"What is an Intensive?"
A Wall Street Journal article recently described an intensive as "High Impact couples therapy...costly, intense, and its fans say, more effective than traditional counseling"
WSJ, March 21st, 2024 - "How to Fix Your Marriage in 16 Hours."
We offer 3 different types of Intensive programs (Enrichment, Crisis, and Premarital). Each one is a specialized, focused time with a couple over the course of 14 hours (2-3 days) to work on specific issues related to the marriage/relationship. It is designed to work with the momentum of non-stop attention to the couple and produce significant change, healing, and restoration.
What's the purpose or benefit of investing both time and money into an Intensive?
Weekly counseling is sometimes unable to dive deep into the issues of a marriage/relationship due to the time constraints. An Intensive is designed to give undivided attention and focused time in order to get deep into the issues presented in the life of a couple. Couples who participate in an Intensive are often able to turn things around quicker than weekly counseling sessions that can span longer periods of time. The "normal" counseling sessions involve 1–2-hour sessions once or twice a month which can take months, if not up to a year, to start to see results, whereas an Intensive can cover in a 2- or 3-day period about 6-9 months' worth of sessions.
Intensives for Enrichment
Specifics of Enrolling in an Intensive
14 hours = $2500 (Weekend and weekday options available)
For our local couples who do not want to drive back and forth each day and those that are coming from other areas or out of state, Pilot Mountain, North Carolina offers many overnight accommodations - some even within walking distance to our office! (We can help direct you to a few places that have offered deals to our clients.)
